Forma architects
Forma builds quietly precise buildings, but their old presence shouted in all the wrong ways. We stripped everything back to structure — a monospaced system, a single red signal color, and a motion language built on the idea of things being assembled. The identity now behaves like their architecture: nothing decorative, everything load-bearing.

The problem
Forma designs quietly precise buildings, but their old brand shouted — busy layouts, decorative flourishes, a website that contradicted the restraint of the actual work. The presence was at war with the practice's core value.
The challenge
The challenge was discipline. It's harder to design something severe and correct than something busy and impressive, and the founders needed to trust that less would read as more confident, not less capable. The motion language especially had to feel intentional, not absent.
The solution
We stripped everything to structure. A monospaced typographic system signalling precision, a single raw-red signal color used once per view, and a motion language built on the idea of things being assembled and locked into place. Nothing decorative survived; everything that remained was load-bearing. The identity now behaves exactly like Forma's architecture.
The impact
The rebrand directly supported Forma's move upmarket — average project value rose materially in the year following launch, and the studio was shortlisted for two cultural commissions they attributed in part to finally looking like a practice of their caliber.
